The opportunity

We are working with a leading membership body to find an experienced leader for their team dedicated to building awareness, engagement, and satisfaction among members.  This will involve overseeing communication strategies, campaigns and content creation to keep members informed, engaged and represented across various platforms, in line with the organisation’s strategic priorities.

Main responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective communication strategies and plans that drive member engagement and align with organisational and commercial goals
• Lead and manage a large team, directly line managing three, ensuring smooth and effective delivery of outputs
• Collaborate with senior management and colleagues across departments to ensure plans and outputs are aligned with organisational priorities
• Plan and deliver creative, relevant communications to engage members, including content related to strategic themes and priorities
• Oversee member communications for campaigns, ensuring members are actively engaged and feel represented.

Key skills and experience required

• Significant experience of creating and implementing effective communication strategies that drive engagement
• Strong people management skills, with experience leading teams through change and adapting to new environments
• Background in media or journalism with experience of crafting compelling, engaging communications and messages
• Deep knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in multi-channel communication
• Experience working in a similar role within a membership, trade, or professional body.
