Ellwood Atfield have partnered with a regulator in the health sector to recruit a Senior EDI Policy Manager on a permanent basis. The organisation is responsible for upholding professional standards in the medical profession, whilst overseeing education, training and disciplinary procedures.
The opportunity
As a Senior EDI Policy Manager, you will manage the design, creation and implementation of the regulator’s approach to EDI policy, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and best practice. You will help to shape the strategic direction of policy, by building strong ties with internal and external stakeholders whilst raising awareness of EDI obligations across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strategic direction, leadership and advice that stretches a broad portfolio of EDI agendas that support the regulator’s aims and objectives.
- Lead on ensuring the strategic alignment of the EDI strategy through design, planning, development and delivery, as well as reporting progress to the Executive and Council.
- Develop a framework to make sure business delivery takes full account of EDI obligations, particularly in relation to the organisation’s relationship with the public, healthcare profession and other stakeholders.
- Work with colleagues across the organisation to raise awareness of EDI statutory requirements and ensure events and content reflect a commitment to EDI standards.
- Manage the Policy Manager and foster a healthy, inclusive work environment.
- Lead and implement a Health and Wellbeing Strategy in collaboration with the HR team to ensure a healthy work environment.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience of creating and implementing EDI initiatives within a complex organisation.
- Confident in forging strategic stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Significant knowledge of current equality legislation and EDI best practice.
- Experienced in line management.
- Adept at managing procedures and policies and training related to risk management, health and safety, data management and business continuity.
