Senior Corporate Communications Manager
The Opportunity
Our client, an entertainment company with a unique position in British society, is looking for a consummate corporate communications professional to join their team. In this role you will use your expertise to think and plan strategically combined with delivering day-to-day media coverage. You will also take charge of the corporate reporting and governance requirements for this highly-regulated organisation.
Main responsibilities
- Build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with media across national, regional, trade, broadcast and digital media, positioning the company as a trusted and responsive source of information and news
- Help to drive development and execution of an ‘always-on’ news operation that identifies opportunities, creates exclusive content and responds rapidly to media enquiries
- Oversee corporate reporting, financial communications and annual reporting, ensuring clarity and accessibility of complex information
- Identify and manage reputational risks, external threats and corporate issues of public interest, minimising negative media coverage and comment
- Guide internal stakeholders on media engagement, providing strategic counsel on story development and messaging.
Key skills and experience required
- Experience of developing, planning, executing and achieving communications strategies and objectives, and of campaigning in the media
- Outstanding news judgment and editorial instincts, with demonstrable experience of creating compelling media stories and content across all platforms
- Proven track record in day-to-day media relations, with exceptional ability to pitch stories, brief journalists and manage media relationships – face-to-face, orally and in writing
- Strong experience in financial communications and corporate reporting, including Group Structure reporting.
- Demonstrable ability to manage complex media issues and crisis communications in a fast-paced, high-profile commercial environment
