Resident Communications Executive
The Opportunity
The organisation
Ellwood Atfield are delighted to have partnered with a housing association in the London area, who are looking for two Resident Communications Executives.
The housing association is responsible for providing affordable housing for residents of London, the South East and East of England, whilst offering a variety of care and support services. This includes support to older residents, and support to marginalised or vulnerable adults. The organisation has a strong record of influencing policy to the benefit of residents and the wider housing sector.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will play a key part of keeping residents informed of any developments within the organisation and housing sector. You will construct impactful messages that connect with your audience and showcase the organisation’s commitment to providing excellent care to service users.
Main Responsibilities
- Form a thorough knowledge of the organisation, including its data and examples.
- Produce clear and engaging written content for residents and key external audiences, including core scripts, stories for the website, social media posts, case studies, and text for reports and publications.
- Draft set piece resident communications throughout the year, for example, annual rent communications and resident bulletins.
- Produce presentations for a variety of audience on a range of topics.
- Support content updates on the organisation website by collaborating with the digital team and ensuring that organisational information is current and accessible.
- Work across the organisation to manage the project lifecycle of annual reports and newsletters, ensuring accurate and timely delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with directorates to provide expert guidance on messaging, coaching colleagues on their communications style and giving confidence.
- Ensuring a consistent organisation voice across all channels.
Person Specification
- Takes a strategic approach to communications, linking activity to wider objectives, using audience insight to drive thinking and guide action, and measuring success.
- Maintains an awareness of the latest technological advances, an understanding of the implications for current communications trends, and active consideration of emerging opportunities for innovation.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to create compelling narratives and messaging that engage audiences.
- Familiarity with basic behavioural change theory.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Interest in public policy, economics and social issues. Understanding of and interest the housing association sector and wider social affairs.
- Understanding of resident needs and diverse community dynamics, with an interest in fostering resident involvement and engagement.
- Ability to analyse communications performance metrics and derive actionable insights to inform strategy.
- Proficiency in using various communications platforms and tools (including social media, web).
