AAT are looking to appoint a Policy Manager focused on accounting tax. You will have the opportunity to shape impactful policies, work collaboratively with industry leaders, and support meaningful change in a fast-changing industry.

 

The Opportunities

 

As Policy Manager (Accounting Tax), you’ll focus on simplifying the UK’s tax system, advocating for small businesses, and influencing accounting and taxation policies to drive economic growth.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of policy strategies aligned with AAT’s goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments, MPs, and professional bodies.
  • Represent AAT in policy discussions,consultations, and public forums.
  • Develop research-backed policy recommendations and clear, impactful messaging.
  • Manage high-profile projects and cross-functional collaboration.

 

Key skills and experience required

  • Deep understanding of public policy, government processes, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong political network across tax, accounting or finance landscape.
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders and influence decisions. 
  • Strong research, analysis, and communication skills.
  • Relevant experience working in a range of policy areas.
