The opportunity

We are working with a leading financial services business which is going through a dynamic period of change to find internal communications experts for two new roles in their corporate affairs team.  Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, the Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives, goals and values.  This role requires a strong thinker with excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and a passion for creating engaging content that will resonate across diverse audiences.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with the company’s objectives and foster a positive organisational culture
  • Create and deliver high-quality, engaging content for various internal communication channels, including emails, newsletters, intranet, presentations and videos
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and promote a positive work environment
  • Provide guidance, training and regular tool kits and cascades of materials and messaging to managers and leaders to help them be better at communicating to their people
  • Plan and execute internal events, such as town halls, employee recognition programs, and other company-wide meetings
  • Establish and maintain feedback channels to gauge employee sentiment and gather insights to inform communication strategies.

Key skills and experience required

  • Proven and demonstrable experience in internal communications, with proven experience at a manager level 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a creative mindset and a keen eye for detail
  • Strong storytelling and content creation abilities
  • Experience with digital communication tools and platforms (e.g., intranet, email marketing software, collaboration tools)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
