Join Nacro, a leading social justice charity, as their Interim Public Affairs Specialist on a 6-to-9-month contract (full time or part time). You will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving their engagement with the new Parliament, influencing government priorities, and ensuring Nacro’s voice is heard on key issues. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a range of policy areas including criminal justice, education and housing.
Main responsibilities
- Develop and execute a public affairs strategy aligned with Nacro’s goals.
- Provide expert advice on parliamentary engagement and policy influence.
- Build strong relationships with key political stakeholders.
- Monitor policy developments and provide timely insights to senior leadership.
- Lead initiatives to establish Nacro’s presence among parliamentary advocates.
Key skills and experience required
- Proven experience in a public affairs position, ideally within the charity sector.
- Strong understanding of UK parliamentary processes and government structures.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and respond to political developments.
- Demonstrable experience in leading advocacy or engagement campaigns.
