The opportunity:

We are partnering with an international FTSE listed business in the aviation sector, to recruit an Interim Head of Communications & Campaigns on a 1-year fixed-term-contract. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, this role is responsible for leading the communication of the organisation’s financial performance, transformation, policy and sustainability goals externally, focusing on the UK and some international markets. The successful candidate will be central to growing the organisation’s brand and reach.

Key responsibilities:

‍

• Manage the communications team focusing on delivering communications in UK and international markets.
• Lead the strategy and delivery of proactive and reactive media relations.
• Play a key role in Group financial results, working at Group level to develop financial communications materials, as well as developing and executing media and digital communications plans.
• Develop proactive campaigns that positively influence enhance the organisation’s corporate reputation, working with colleagues across corporate affairs and sustainability.
• Think creatively about strategies to communicate their ESG narrative and enhance its reputation as a responsible business.
• Support the Executive Team in English language media and external event activities, preparing briefing notes.

Experience and skills required:

‍

• Relevant communications experience which must include experience in a UK-listed business working directly on financial results.
• Line and agency management experience.
• Able to work with financial information and data to back up the corporate narrative.
• Ability to develop communication strategies to build corporate reputation, particularly on sustainability, financial and regulatory issues.
• A desire and willingness to be hands-on dealing with journalists and managing the press office.
• A broad range of media relations contacts in the UK in the national business media, at correspondent and business editor level.
