Representing over 100 member companies, BCGA plays a vital role in shaping policy, ensuring safety, and setting industry standards. With the hydrogen economy growing, BCGA is expanding its influence in this critical sector.
The Opportunity
BCGA seeks a Hydrogen Policy Manager to lead its work in hydrogen safety, regulation and industry development. This role will shape policy, engage with key stakeholders and support members in navigating the evolving hydrogen landscape. Reporting to the Chief Executive, it will play a key role in ensuring BCGA’s leadership in hydrogen safety and standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and advocate for hydrogen policy positions, engaging with government and industry bodies
- Support BCGA’s Hydrogen and Alternative Fuels Committee, driving discussions and technical guidance
- Lead the creation of new codes, guidelines, and educational resources on hydrogen safety
- Represent BCGA at industry events, promoting its expertise in hydrogen regulation
- Identify and recruit new members within the sector.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Strong understanding of hydrogen technologies, regulations and market trends
- Experience in policy development, stakeholder engagement or technical leadership
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent BCGA at a senior level
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with industry experts
- A background in engineering, energy or environmental sciences is desirable.
