Crucial policy and public affairs positions within the financial services sector

The organisation

Ellwood Atfield is working with an investment advice company which is seeking two Public Affairs and Policy Managers. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategic public affairs plans. This is a unique opportunity to influence policy, build the organisation’s reputation, and engage with key stakeholders in a highly regulated environment. 

This role is suitable for candidates with a strong grounding in both policy and public affairs, within the financial services sector.  

Main Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute a strategic policy and public affairs plan for the Asset Management or Pensions businesses 
  • Build and manage relationships with Ministers, Parliamentarians, civil servants, and partner organisations to influence the government agenda 
  • Provide political insight, monitoring, and analysis, as well as advise on appropriate responses to political and legislative developments 

Key Skills and Experience required 

  • Strategic thinker with experience in Westminster or Brussels, and a strong network of relevant and established contacts in the political sphere 
  • Proven ability to build and strengthen internal and external relationships, with experience in the Financial Services sector, ideally within asset management, or pensions 
  • Excellent communicator with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, capable of driving initiatives forward independently.
